Collins
The Olympic 4x100m relay gold medallist is however more likely to find Olusoji Fasuba who a fortnight ago ran an African record of 9.85seconds, more of a handful.Nigerias Commonwealth silver medallist achieved that performance when finishing runner-up to Justin Gatlin when the USAs Olympic and world champion equalled the world record in Doha.
Campbell also competed at the Qatarian meeting, but failed to make the final after finishing sixth in his heat with a clocking of 10.29sec.The Linford Christie coached sprinter however is adamant he can race himself into quicker form to ensure a place in the Norwich Union GB side for the Euros in Gothenburg beginning on August 7.Hengelo will offer Campbell a perfect opportunity to impress the British selectors, with Collins and definitely the in-form Fasuba, capable of breaking the 10-seconds barrier.
Eerste man onder de tien seconden in Nederland
Collins recovered from the injury which prevented him defending his Commonwealth crown, is determined to produce a fast time on his return to international action.”I really should like to be the first man who runs under 10 seconds in Holland,” said the St Kitts & Nevis star, who bases himself in Amsterdam during the summer season.Joining Campbell at the meeting will be James McIlroy the British 800m Number One, Tom Carter in the 1500m and Commonwealth bronze medallist Andy Turner, contesting the 110m hurdles.Joice Maduaka and Emma Ania compete over 100m, Kate Reed tackles the 5000m and Lee McConnell the Commonwealth bronze medallist, is in the 400m hurdles.
